#metoo Campaign and Thoughts About it
The one thing I hate about some people is how they can abuse their power too much that it can create a bunch of problems. I'm just sick of this one hashtag that makes people join in the fight. That hashtag is called #metoo. However, the #timesup campaign doesn't upset me even more because I rarely see it get discussed and plus it also talks about men sexually assaulting women; its just #metoo that gets on my nerves.
Today, I will be talking about this hashtag and my opinion on this movement. I'm going to be honest with you. I dislike this movement. However, I appreciate these people fighting for their gender right. In fact, Oprah Winfrey set the record straight at the Golden Globes and it was basically trending throughout social media and it has made people think about Oprah running for president in 2020.
But the fact that they are taking this by force too much, it's just hurting us men. You're basically trying to cease us in having freedom. Another thing I don't like about this movement is how some women have to bring up some stuff from the past that wasn't covered at that time like getting sexually assaulted or harassed in the past by some men. Like why do you have to ruin that person's life at the last second? Some of those accusations can be fake though. They're just trying to make a bandwagon to stand up for the victim that has been involved in a sexual act. This is my reason why I dislike the campaign #metoo.
Well guys, I think I need to stop right here. This blog looks controversial and such and I probably triggered every girl or woman that has read this blog. Once again, I apologize for my anger and rant towards this last blog. These females don't deserve to get hate on because of their actions. We should RESPECT women like we should respect everyone. At the end of the day, both men and women deserve to live freely. This blog is all in my point of view of how I see the #metoo movement leading onto the future. Thank you for reading my last blog and have a great day!

What doesn't make sense is the fact that you said that the #timesup movement does not upset you, yet the #metoo movement does, when in the whole grand scheme of things they're movements for the same thing: sexual harassment. I wouldn't say it's "hurting" men, but we're confronting all of those men and women who have sexually harassed another person. They have got to admit that. These movements are made to confront those who have done wrong and disrespected another person sexually and physically, not just men. Some of those accusations are fake sometimes, that's true. Yet, statistically, only 2% of those accusations are actually false. It's just directed at men more than woman because of the history they hold. There's a reason why self-defence classes are different for each gender, not out of sexism but being realistic. Not all men sexually harass others, but for those that do and women that do deserve this kind of confrontation. But how do you see the #metoo movement resulting in the future? Cause you didn't really make that clear. It's for the equality and safety between all genders. Justice for everyone. Of course men are going to be "hurt", and they should be if they are the ones who have done such things. "You're basically trying to cease us in having freedom", by freedom do you mean getting away with sexually assaulting someone? People calling rapists out shouldn't feel guilty for ruining that person's life if they have ruined someone else's. When it came to racism back when there was slavery and black people finally got their justice, do you think they cared whether or not they were "hurting" the white people who did hurt them in ways they cannot possibly imagine? Not all white people, but those who did. The same thing goes with this argument. It's not just a gender thing, it's a human rights thing. Women aren't the only ones getting sexually harassed.
ReplyDeleteI apologize for being a hypocrite for saying "the #timesup movement doesn't bother me at all while the #metoo movement does" Yes I deserve to be corrected for this. I feel sorry for being such a monster about ranting over the movements that have been going on lately. And if I made you mad or something, I apologize because this is a topic i'd rather not talk about or post on my blogger. But because of a unit that we have to work on about blogging and that one of the articles was about the #metoo and #timesup movement, I had no choice but to make an honest and blunt statement about what I thought about this. When I typed this blog, the original title for this was "ONE OF MY MOST CONTROVERSIAL BLOGS EVER???" because I was afraid that women and girls like you would blast me for going off on your #metoo and #timesup movements. I was afraid that all of you would stop me from talking about this kind of topic. So then I had some help from my friends to revise my blog and make this clean and appropriate as possible (like there will be as little as no problems on this blog as possible). So once again, I apologize for acting like a moron on this blog and for being a hypocrite. Please forgive me for my response to the #metoo and #timesup movement. I promise this type of blog will never happen again. Finally, I had to type this comment to make sure I don't make matters worse between us and the other women and girls that will read this blog
DeleteI do not completely agree with you. I think you have the wrong idea of the #MeToo movement. The point of the movement is not to ruin the lives of innocent men or to remove men's rights. The movement is to expose instances of sexual harassment and to help protect people from it. I do not agree that this is a 'bandwagon' movement, the point of the movement is to empower women who are unable to come forward with their stories. Also, this movement is not anti-men like you make it seem, there are also men who are being empowered by the movement.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you in the fact that the movement is not always great as there are fake allegations. It is terrible to see people abusing something like this movement for their own personal gains.
I respect your point of view and am not trying to talk down to you. I just think you need to learn a little bit more about the movement and to reorganize your thoughts about it.
